Discussion of Balochistan Budget continues

QEUTTA: Treasury benches in Balochistan Assembly have demanded investigation into funds spent on schemes during the past ten years. There is small interference from outside while it is massive from inside. A high level meeting should be called on law and order situation and water problem in Balochistan.

Opposition members while rejecting budget 201314 said that schemes mention in it were not mentioned and it is apprehended Opposition has been totally ignored in the budget. Unconstitutional and illegal way would not be allowed to run the House.

Session was presided over by Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali.

Taking part in general discussion of budget 201314Nawb Ayaz Jogezai PMAP said that for the first time a balance budget was presented in the history of province. He said nations progress through education. He said China which got independence after Pakistan has emerged as a strong economy in the world. He said Quetta a city of Balochistan province is lacking drinking water. WASA has stopped water supply to the people. He said there was major role in the present budget and a good budget was presented. He said education and health sectors were deliberately ignored and modern equipments were not benefitted. He said political parties are responsible for entire situation of the country. He said if we showed lapse our future would be destroyed. He asked government to take practical steps.

Dr Hamid Achakzai PMAP said that there should be Baloch Pashtoon parity in Balochistan. He said Maulana Ghafoor Hydri do speaks of rights of Baloch but does not speak of Pashtoons rights. He said drug mafia has set up personal check posts form Quetta to Chaman. Government should take immediate notice of these. He aid Chaman and Taftan borders should be made strong as Wahga border is. He said there should be end of people with negative thinking.

Engineer Zamrak ANP asked Chief Minister not to take treasury members into confidence but should also talk to Opposition members. He said we have reservations over present budget. He said schemes announced in the budget were not identified.

Nasrullah Zere PMAP congratulated Chief Minister for present revolutionary budget and accorded priority to education.

He said it is surprising in Sindh children were acquiring education in mother tongue while in Balochistan a ban was imposed on these. He aid time has come for accountability of all. He said all the police stations in the city were being sold.

Tubewells in the city are faulty and roads nonexistent. He said an inquiry should be held for schemes during the past ten years.

Sardar Mustafa Tareen, Ms Samina Khan, Spozmai and others also spoke on various aspects of budget 201314 and termed budget as balanced.
