District: Infant’s dead body stolen

Sialkot: Some unknown thieves took away dead body of an infant after exhuming his grave at a local graveyard in Sambrial city on Tuesday. According to the details, local trader Rashid Muneer Sheikh’s two-week old son died on May 22 and was buried at Zainul Abideen Graveyard near Sabzi Mandi Sambrial city here.

The infant deceased child’s grandfather Muneer Ahmed went to the graveyard to offer Fateha there. He found the grave of said deceased child exhumed as the coffin was also lying kept there near the grave but dead body was missing. Some unknown thieves had “stolen” dead body of child after exhuming his grave there.

The news of this nasty incident spread in the area like the fire of a jungle, as the hundreds of the people gathered there and they strongly protested against this nasty incident along with the grieved family and heirs of the said infant deceased child. A big contingent of police besieged the graveyard. Sambrial police still remained unable to find any clue, in this regard. Meanwhile, the Sialkot DPO Humayun Bashir Tarar said that the police was conducting sudden raids at various places to ensure early arrest of accused and the accused would be arrested very soon.
