District: Mock flood combating exercise held in River Chenab near Sialkot

Sialkot: The Rescue 1122 Sialkot officials on Monday conducted a mock flood fighting exercise in River Chenab near Head Marala-Sialkot. They showed their skills to avert the recurring flood threats and how to combat the flood. They also gave necessary training to the NGOs to avert the recurring flood threats and how to combat the flood.

Sialkot DCO Shakeel Ahmed supervised this mock exercise. District administration provided the emergency relief infrastructural help to the mock flood victims during this mock flood exercise, proving that all the departments were alert and ready to combat any flood eventuality.

On this occasion, the Sialkot DCO told the media persons that the Sialkot district government has divided the entire Sialkot district into 22 sectors to avert the recurring flood threats under a foolproof flood protection plan, besides, establishing as many as 33 flood relief centers in Sialkot district’s all the four Sialkot, Daska and Sambrial tehsils.

Earlier the District Flood Relief Committee Sialkot reviewed in details the flood preventive measures. DCO added that the district administration has already completed all the necessary preventive arrangements to save the Sialkot district from the recurring flood threats.
