District: Punjab to hold LB polls on party basis: Rana Sana Ullah)November 8, 2013
Sialkot: Provincial Minister for Law Punjab Rana Sana Ullah has said that the Punjab government respects the verdicts of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and Lahore High Court (LHC), saying that the Punjab government was ready to hold the elections of the Local Bodies in Punjab on party basis following the orders of the LHC on the scheduled time given by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
He stated this while talking to media persons at Sialkot city after reviewing the Muharram security arrangements made by the district administration of Sialkot here. Punjab Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema, Commissioner Gujranwala Division Khawaja Shamail Ahmed and Sialkot DCO Iftikhar Ali Sahu were also present on this occasion.
Rana Sana Ullah said that there should be no doubt by any one regarding holding the LB Polls in Punjab, saying that the Punjab government would hold the LB Polls on party basis as per the election schedule given by the Supreme Court. Provincial Law Minister reviewed the Muharram security arrangements at Imambargah Adda Pasruriyaan-Sialkot and Imambargah Mistary Abdulla-Sialkot and said that the government would provide the foolproof security for holding Majaalis and Muharram procession to all the license holders, in this regard. He said that the government was ensuring peace and making all sincere efforts to weed out terrorism from the country in active cooperation of the masses.
