District: Sialkot exporters to establish their own generating company

Sialkot: Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has announced to establish its own power distribution company namely “Sialkot Electric Power Company” (Sepco) on self help basis for meeting the electricity needs of export-oriented Sialkot city and pull

the export industries of Sialkot out of the prolonged worst energy crisis, which have badly hit the Sialkot industries, putting them on the verge of collapse.

President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Sheikh Abdul Majid disclosed this while talking to the media persons on Wednesday. SCCI Vice Presidents Muhammad Ikram and Sheikh Kashif Almas were also present on this occasion.

SCCI President said that the opulent Sialkot business community has found an amicable solution to the energy crisis for getting rid of this crucial situation, in shape of establishing Sialkot’s own electricity distribution company on self help basis. “Now we are proud to announce that we are going to establish Sepco on self help basis”, he added.

SCCI President said that almost all the paper work had already been complete and now (after the marvellous victory of PML-N in May 11, 2013 general elections), the time was very high for us to go ahead and establish Sialkot’s own power distribution company Sepco in Sialkot on

self help basis, as the trendy Sialkot exporters would invest in this project to be undertaken under the supervision of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here.

Earlier, the Sialkot exporters had already completed the mega projects of establishing Sialkot Dry Port Trust, Sialkot Export Processing Zone (EPZ), Seerat Study Centre Sialkot Cantt, constructing all the main inter-city roads under the Sialkot City Development Package, besides, establishing the Sialkot International Airport on self help basis, setting the unique examples of self help for the others to replicate them, SCCI President.
