District: Youngman drowned

Sialkot: A village RaheempurSialkot based youth Faisal Tariq 18 years old on Sunday drowned in faster flow of water in MaralaRaviLink M.R.Link Canal near Saahowala, Sambrial tehsil in a bid to beat the scorching heat.

Reportedly, he was taking bath there along with his friends when he drowned there. His friends could not save him. The rescuers of Rescue 1122 Sialkot fished out his dead body after a skirmish.

On Saturday a Gujrat based youth Ali Murtaza 25 had also drowned in the River Chenab near Head Marala –Sialkot here, while picnicking and bathing there in such sizzling hot and muggy weather. Rescue 1122 Sialkot officials fished out his dead body from the river.

Now, two youths have drowned in Sialkot district during the last two days while bathing in rivers and canals, violating the official ban already imposed by the district administration of Sialkot on bathing and picnicking in and around the rivers, canals, water channels and streams flowing into Sialkot district here.

Most of the people from Sialkot, Daska, Gujranwala, Sambrial, Pasrur, Chawinda, Zafarwal, Shakargarh, Baddo Malhi, Narowal, Gujrat and surrounding areas rush to the Head Marala near Sialkot, which is a famous picnic spot along the banks of River Chenab here.
