Edu: Turk educationists agree for collaboration between Pak-Turk educational sectorsSeptember 25, 2013
Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has stressed the need for collaboration between Turkish and Pakistani educational sectors for taking benefit of the robust Turk educational system. He also appreciated contributions of Pak Turk School System in promotion of education in Pakistan.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Vice Chancellors of various Turk Universities led by Professor Dr. Serif Ali Tekalan, Vice Chancellor Fatih University, and Istanbul which called on him at Parliament House on Wednesday.
Referring the friendly relations between Pakistan and Turkey the Speaker said that Pakistan and Turkey were tied in the bonds of religion, brotherhood and history besides Turkey being a brother and a trusted friend.
While appreciating Turkish cooperation in development of social and economic sectors in Pakistan, the Speaker said that Pakistan values the keen interest of its Turkish brethren for progress and prosperity in Pakistan. He said that educational sectors of both the countries could further enhance cooperation.
The Speaker said that education play a vital role in progress and prosperity in any country. He said that lack of education and proper employment opportunities were major issues confronting socioeconomic development in Pakistan.
He said that incumbent government has taken various steps to enhance the literacy rate in the country. He praised establishment of educational institutions by Turkish government in Pakistan especially in the areas affected by earthquake and floods of years 2005 and 2010, respectively. He also appreciated the high standard of education in Turkey and said that it was heartening to note that large number of Pakistani students was studying in Turkish Institutions.
Members of the delegation appreciated the Speaker’s sentiments for Turkey and assured Turkish all out support for promotion of education in Pakistan. They expressed their heartfelt grief and sorrow over the loss of lives and property in recent earthquake in Balochistan and said that Turkey would extend maximum support to the affectees.
They apprised the Speaker about MoUs signed between the Pakistani and Turkish Universities for collaboration amongst educational institutions of both the countries. They appreciated the steps taken by the government of Pakistan for promotion of education in the country. Members of the delegation were also briefed by the Secretary National Assembly about the working of the National Assembly and Committee system. Later, they witnessed the proceedings of the Session of National Assembly.
