Election info cells being set up in Sindh

KARACHI: Sindh Information Department is establishing cells at all district and divisional headquarters, including Karachi, to provide journalists with information about upcoming general elections.

This was informed by Caretaker Sindh Information Minister Noorul Huda Shah while talking to a delegation of Karachi Press Club comprising its President Imtiaz Faran, Shams Keerio and others.

She said power is the duty right of representatives to be elected through general elections, which would be handed over to them soon after the conduction of the polls.

The info minister rejected rumours about delay in polls and said that they would not be delayed for even one day. She said that holding fair and transparent elections was the top priority of caretaker government for which every possible steps were being taken.

“In this regard, services of police, law enforcement agencies, volunteers and retired policemen had been arranged so that people could use right of their vote without any fear,” she concluded.

Director Press Information Mohammad Yousuf was also present on the occasion.
