Election Monitoring Cell opened in CPOApril 2, 2013
KARACHI: Sind police on Tuesday declared Inspector General Operations Room in Central Police Office CPO as Central Election Monitoring Cell so as to implement the election security plan for General Election 2013 in Sind province.
Director Press Sind Police said in handout here Tuesday that on directives of IGP Sind Shahid Nadeem Baloch, police have allocated phone and fax numbers and email ID for the Central Election Monitoring Cell of Sind Police which would ensure integrated and effective security measures and immediate contact with DIG Rangers, district police offices and police stations throughout the province during the elections.
The list of these telephone numbers has been sent to additional IG Karachi and all DIGs. A detailed 12 hourly report would be send to IGP Sind in morning and evening to make the monitoring cell effective.
The police have been asked to take every possible measure to maintain law and order situation during general elections and also cooperate with election commission officials to organize free and fair elections, peacefully.
IGP Sind said that regional and district police officers would be responsible to maintain law and order, otherwise a strict disciplinary action would be taken against them.
