Emergency declared in KMC hospitals

Karachi: Following the directive of KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi the state of emergency has been declared in the medical & health services department of KMC in view of forthcoming General Election 2013 with immediate effect till the General Election is over.

Accordingly keeping in view the emergency, all kind of leave of officers / officials including Medical Superintendents / M.O. Incharge Doctors, Nursing / Paramedical staff and allied supporting staff in all the Hospitals and Health Institutions of KMC besides clinical faulty of Karachi Medical & Dental College KMDC and Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases KIHD were also cancelled till Election.

Consequently Principal KMDC, Executive Director KIHD and Medical Superintendent / M. O. Incharge, Doctors, of all the Hospitals and Health Institutions of KMC have been advised to ensure presence of Officers / Staff and necessary items to face and untoward situation / emergency.

It is further notified that all the dispensaries and health facilities of KMC which otherwise are not working on 24 hours basis shall remain open on the day of Election i.e. Saturday, May 11, 2013 till conclusion of voting time with the required staff and items etc.

A Central Control Room with arrangements of Ambulances was also established in the Poly Clinic Ground Floor Civic Centre which shall remain work round the clock on the day of Election i.e. Saturday, May 11, 2013.
