First ever Environment Museum to open on June 5June 3, 2013
Karachi: The Karachi will make history on Wednesday June 05, 2013 with inauguration of Pakistan’s first ever Environment Museum located near NIPA opposite Sindbad. Vice Chancellor of Karachi University Dr. Muhammad Qaiser will open the joint venture of UNIKARIANS and Gul Bahao, a nongovernment organization dealing in use of municipal waste for different purposes.
An exhibition will also be organized on this occasion to mark the World Environment Day falling on June 05. The exhibition will open at 10.00a.m and the formal inaugural ceremony will be held in the evening.
Ms. Nargis Latif of Gul Bahao said a large number of products made of waste by Karachi University students will be put on display at museum and exhibition. She added that using the waste for different products would ease the environment problem besides generate revenue and offers self-employment opportunities to the jobless people.
Her organization Gul Bahao had been engaged in this trade since a decade and successfully produced waste made blocks for housing and other products.
