Flooded Naullah Dek plays havoc, inundates 47 villages near Pasrur

Sialkot: The flood water after this noon splashed over the banks of flooded Naullah Dek as a peak of 19500 cusecs flood water reached here from India, which overflowed its banks near village Chahoor-Pasrur and inundated around 47 villages of Pasrur, Zafarwal, Qila Ahmedabad and surrounding areas.

According to senior officials of Sialkot Irrigation Department confirmed inundation of the above mentioned 47 villages, saying that the high flood in Naullah Dek continued playing havoc in as many as 20 flooded villages of Pasrur tehsil and 27 villages of Zafarwal and Qila Ahmedabad here, today, as the water level was continuously souring up in flooded Naullah Dek here.

According to the local stranded people, more than four to five feet high flood water standing in flood hit villages of Pasrur, Zafarwal, Qila Ahmedabad and surrounding areas. The thousands of the flood affected people have been lying stranded in these villages, as they were unable to move to the safer places due to the faster flow of flood water in the said villages here.

The senior officials of Sialkot Irrigation Department told the newsmen that four to five feet high flood water was standing there in Pasrur tehsil’s flood hit villages including Jabbokey, Nawaadhey, Chahoor, Machchaana, Eispur, Seehowal, Mehtabpur, Hunjali, Tharo Mandi, Shehzada, Bharat and Khewa Bajwa. The agricultural lands on hundreds of acres were also inundated by the flood water in Pasrur and Zafarwal areas here.

District Officer Coordination Sialkot Malik Abid Hussain Awan added that the rescue activities were on by the district administration, Civil Defence and Rescue 1122 workers in the flood hit areas of Pasrur tehsil here today. The district administration of Sialkot claimed that the entire flood situation was totally under control here. DCO supervised these relief activities in the said floodhit areas.
