Four engineers of Public Health Department Naushehro Feroze arrested in corruption case

Naushehro Feroze, Sindh: Mr. Jan Muhammad Lanjar, judge, anti-corruption court, Sukkur Tuesday remanded an engineer and three sub engineers of Public Health Department, Naushehro Feroze to the anti-corruption police for further investigation till June 02, 2013. All the four accused were arrested yesterday from their office in a case of irregularities in tenders of development works.

The engineer Umer Siyal, sub engineers Manzoor Bohiyo, Athar Hussain and Nazeer Hussain Memon were arrested in a case (Fir number 4/2013 and 5/2013) involving irregularities of Rs.16.4 million in a tender number 551/2012 of May 20, 2012. The FIR was lodged by Sohail Waggan on behalf of the government.

The anti-corruption team had lodged case after continuous protests by the local people against the accused officials. Three other accused Nasrullah Panhwar, Ghulam Rasool Mallah and Khushihaldas however absconded to escape the arrest.

The arrested accused officials were produced today before anti-corruption judge who holds court here in Naushehro Feroze for two-days every week.
