The Technical cell of Gilgit Baltistan Government has given technical approval of Gorikot- Shagharthing Road project.
The project, costing four billion rupees is part of Comprehensive Development Plan of Federal Government, will be completed under public sector development program. Tender process of this important project will be initiated soon. It will connect Astor with Baltistan division.
In future, with the construction of Shunter Tunnel, Baltistan will be connected to Islamabad via this road through Muzaffarabad by which the travel distance will come down to minimum level.
