Georgia’s first special envoy presents credentials to OIC chief

Jeddah Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen received here last Thursday Ambassador of Georgia to Saudi Arabia George Janjgava, who submitted to him his credentials as Georgia’s first special envoy to the OIC.

Ambassador Janjgava expressed his country’s appreciation of the OIC’s role in promoting peace, fostering inter-state relations and standing for its principled position on various issues of common interest to humanity. He reaffirmed Georgia’s desire to further its relations with the Organization and to explore possibilities of enhancing ties in political, economic and cultural domains.

The secretary general expressed his appreciation and welcome for Georgia’s representation to the Organization, and congratulated the ambassador on his new and first assignment of Georgia to the OIC. He also voiced the OIC’s desire to closely work with Georgia on matters of mutual interest.
