Governor BUITEMS convocationDecember 31, 2013
QUETTA: Universities are not mere institutions to provide employments to professors and imparting education to boys and girls but these are instructions of research. Researchers and teachers are pillars on which future is standing.
This was stated by Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai while addressing 9 th Convocation of Balochistan University of Information Technology, engineering and management sciences (BUITEMS) here Tuesday.
Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, provincial ministers, MPAs and senior officers also attended.
Governor said he was happy to see that a large number of females are recipients of degrees which is a good sign for the province. He was also satisfied to see shine in the eyes of girl students which is guarantee for our better tomorrow. He expressed the confidence that our young graduates would also show remarkable performance in their practical life and prove to be good citizens. He said remember education is not only mean of acquiring knowledge and technical information but its real objective is character building.
Governor called upon girl and boy students to move on path of righteousness and refrain from anything as make them feel ashamed. He asked them to love humanity and serve it because it is true path.
He appreciated university teachers to imparting best education and congratulated girl and boy students for obtaining degrees.
He announced cash awards of Rupees 50 thousand each for those getting Badges of Honour and Rupees one lakh for each gold medallists.
Vice Chancellor BUITEMS engineer Ahmed Farooq Bazai in his address of welcome recounted University’s achievements and future plans.
Earlier Governor Achakzai gave degrees to about 700 girl and boy students, gold medals and Badges of honour. He said he was sure problems of nation can be resolved through education. He said BUITEMS has been working as a family during the past 11 years.
Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch also announced Rupees one lakh for 23 girl and boy students for topping their respective disciplines.
