Govt committed to develop mining, tourism sectors of AJK, GB: GandapurNovember 2, 2018
Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has said government is committed to develop mining and tourism sectors of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
Talking to ambassador of France to Pakistan Dr Marc Barety in Islamabad, he discussed the different strategies and prospects of foreign investment in development of mining and tourism sectors.
The meeting discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries with particular reference to social and economic development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.Minister said that the government intended to develop new tourist resorts, access roads and create recreational activities to attract more and more tourist in the area.
He also informed that visa policy, security and rescue related services for foreign tourists, expeditions, trekkers and mountaineers are also being improved.
He also highlighted the potential of hydroelectric projects and other sectors of the region which could be a source of great attraction for foreign investors.
The Ambassador praised the current government for its commitment for social and economic uplift of the region.
He informed the minister about his country’s ongoing development projects and investments in Pakistan.
