Govt will bring an implementable document to deal with security issues: Ch Nisar

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan informed the National Assembly that terrorist attack in Bhara Kahu,Islamabad was plotted in North Waziristan.

Replying on a call atention moved by Munaza Hassan regarding terrorist attack in Bhara Kahu,he said that five suspects have been arrested while three are still at large.

He said that one of the arrested persons is local while one is Afghan and the others belong to FATA. He said the suicide bomber failed to hit the target congregation as per the plan.

About Islamabad standoff in which one armed man kept one part of Islamabad hostage for over five hours‚ the Interior Minister clarified that he‚ in his last speech‚ did not mention about involvement of international conspiracy in the incident. He said the condition of the armed man is stable and he will be questioned in the next few days.

On national security policy‚ Ch. Nisar Ali Khan said the government will bring an implementable document to deal with security issues. He said initial draft of the policy has been prepared and will be finalized after consultations.

Meanwhile,Replying to a call attention notice moved by Saeed Ahmad Khan and others regarding delay in construction of Khanewal-Lodhran Expressway‚ Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad told the House that this expressway will be constructed on BOT basis. He said that ECNEC had approved this project in 2010 but it could not be executed because of non-payment of funds by the World Bank.

The House approved election of thirty-four committees including Public Accounts‚ Rules of Procedure and Privileges‚ House and Library‚ Government Assurances‚ Finance Committee of the National Assembly‚ the Standing Committees for various Ministries and Special Committee on Kashmir. A motion to this effect was moved by Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad.
