Growers announce volunteer arrest movement

BADIN: Growers of Badin on Tuesday continued their protest against acute water scarcity, announcing volunteer arrest movement and massive protest campaign against acute water shortage in subdivision Khairpur Ghamboh and Malkani Sharif since last three months.

Leading roads towards Tando Bago, Kadhan and adjoining areas were blocked and traffic was completely suspended due to protest and sit-in.

Addressing the gathering, representatives of growers association Fayaz Muhammad Rashid, Sayed Attaullah Shah, Rafique Mehmood Arain and others said that their struggle would be continued till water flow in different canals and sub canals is restored.

They demanded Rangers deployment along canals and closure of illegal water courses in the area. They also appealed to Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan to take notice of such injustice and improper share of water to the growers of the area and order stern action against involved irrigation officials.
