HSBC, Soneri Bank win in Bankers Champion League

Karachi: HSBC Middle East and Soneri Bank won their respective matches in Q-mobile 2nd Bankers Champions League here Sunday at Rashid Latif Cricket Academy.

HSBC recorded a four wicket victory against Bank Al-Habib. Bank Al-Habib batted first 14410 in 20 overs. Mir Sajid top scored for the side with 50 runs. Imran Bashir captured two wickets.

In response, HSBC reached the target in 19 overs with four wickets in hand. Aziz Ur Rehman and 46, Tahseen Nazeer batted well for the victors in the match scoring 46 and 39 runs. Aun Zaheer and Ameer captured two wickets each.

Meanwhile, Soneri Bank recorded a convincing 39run triumph against Albaraka Bank. Soneri Bank batted first and put on board 165 runs losing all of their wickets. Sajid Ismail batted well scoring 55runs. Hasan Raza hauled three wickets.

In reply, Albaraka Bank scored 1269 using the allotted quota of 20 overs. Rehan Khan was the top scorer for the side with 29 runs. Faisal Iqbal, Aamir Zafar and Rehan Tirmizi each grabbed two wickets for the winning team.
