IGP forms joint team to launch crackdown on illegal immigrants

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Police AIGP Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo has constituted an special joint team comprising officers of Karachi police, special branch and FIA at zonal and range level to launch crackdown against the illegal immigrants living in the city without work permit and valid documentations.

An officer of DSP rank from each zone or range has been nominated as the incharge of joint team. AIGP Karachi issued directives to all zonal/range DIGs to ensure requisite manpower, police mobiles and other resources to conduct raids. Special branch and FIA would also pour in the requisite support.

He stressed for initiating action effectively and submitting the progress report on daily basis. AIGP directed to ensure establishment of illegal foreigners or aliens cell at zonal or range level immediately. He said that the cell would monitor the performance of joint team and submit progress report on priority without fail.

He further asked officers to keep close liaison with FIA to apprehend and initiate legal action against illegal immigrants/ aliens.
