IGP orders Rs2m compensation to martyred cop

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police Sind Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh said on Tuesday that during this year 30 police officials and personnel have embraced martyrdom and 38 other injured while performing their duties during this year.

This he said while speaking at Garden Police Headquarters on the occasion of funeral prayer of police constable Gul Sher who was killed in Gulshan Ghazi, Baldia Town. He said that the police moral is high despite such martyrdoms of policemen. The IGP issued directives for provision of Rs2 million compensation to the real family of martyred policeman Gul Sher with other relief and also a police job to any one real heir of the victim.
