Imran demands national policy on terrorism

Peshawar: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Imran Khan on Monday demanded of the federal government devise a national policy for countering terrorism in the country suggesting that Pakistan should separate itself from the US led war on terror.

While addressing to media on his first visit after his party formed government in the province, PTI chief said that Federal government should called the meeting in which Chief Of army Staff should brief them. ” in that meeting CM KPK, I as Chairman PTI and other should sit to know what our Army is doing and what is their program.

“We should be on the same page and devise a national policy,” he said adding that there were different types of terrorism in the country which need different strategy.

On this occasion Chief Minister Parvez Khattak, Provincial Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai, Education Minister Atif Khan, Minister public health Shah Farman and Amin Gandapore were present.

He said that whatever step has been taken by the Federal government Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf would support that policy. He said that an independent commission for accountability of the corrupt elements would soon be constituted, which would keep eye on all politicians, MPAs and Bureaucrats.

He added that all the assets of bureaucrats, MPAs and Minister would be displayed on official website and all the developmental funds would be utilized through local bodies’ representatives while politician and bureaucrats would not be provided to the chance to enhance their business. He maintained that the royalty of natural resources of Karak and Kohat would be spent through district development committee.

Regarding President Musharraf treason case, Imran Khan said that no person is above the law and each individual including former president Musharraf must be treated as per the law of the land. He said that his party believes on supremacy of law and constitution.

He said that on one hand USA starting dialogue with Taliban while on the other hand they edify Pakistan to fight militancy in its own country. He said that political agent Waziristan Agency submitted a report that in the last five years only 47 terrorists were killed while 1500 innocent people becomes the victims of these attacks.

Imran Khan vowed that as per the promise, PTI would eradicate the culture of corruption within 90 days of his government. He said that at Tehsil level play grounds would be made to promote cricket, hockey and volley ball.

He said that there will not transfer and posting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and in case of any complaint, proper enquiry would be initiated against government employee. He said that the expense of chief Minster house have been reduced to from 140 million to 70 million while the expenses of advisors and Minister would also be reduced up to 75 percent.

To a question regarding drone attacks, Imran said that Federal government has protested against drone attacks and in case they were not able to raise concern over, then it is our right to close NATO supply. He said that access to information is the right of every one and government would ensure to maximum access to information.

He also appealed federal government to hand over the control of tourist spots to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in order to spend this money on education sector.

He said that 32 government rest houses in Nathia Galli would also be used for commercial purposes to generate maximums revenue.
