Indian ‘water aggression’ disturbs JIJuly 29, 2013
Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has deplored that while India was building dams on the Pakistani rivers, Islamabad was a silent spectators and was not prepared to make any protest at national or international level on water aggression b India.
Talking to various delegations at Mansoora on return from Karachi, he said it seemed the Pakistani rulers themselves had permitted India to build dams on our rivers by stealing water. In this way, our rulers were advancing India’s agenda to turn this country into a desert and ruin its economy. That was why the new Pakistani rulers were so keen to befriend India and promote trade with it.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that India was already blocking waters of rivers Chenab and Jhelum by building dozens of dams and now it had announced building five time bigger dam than the Baghliar dam. He said India was also stealing water of river Indus through a tunnel. All this was a serious violation of the Indus Water Treaty but Pakistani rulers were keeping a criminal silence.
The JI Ameer said that the cowardice of the rulers ad their craze to accept India’s supremacy had disappointed the people who had been expecting the PMLN leadership to fight s the country’s case against India.
Hasan condemned the drone attack in North Waziristan. He said that the new ruling party had promised to end the drone attacks and safeguard the country’s independence and sovereignty, but during the last one and a half months of the present government, there had been five drone attacks in which dozens of innocent people had been killed. However, the rulers did not have the guts to protest and were only adopting an apologetic attitude which was encouraging the US aggression.
The JI Ameer also slated the government party compromise with the MQM and said the PMLN leadership was least interested in eradication of terrorism and chaos in the country but was going to the extreme only to remain in power.
Munawar also condemned the silence of the Muslim rulers as also the international bodies over the killings of innocent peaceful citizens in firing by the Egyptian army. He however said the blood of the Ikhwanul Muslimoon would not go in vain and they would be back in power soon.
