The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) strongly condemned the statements made by Canada’s Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland and the Canadian embassy in Riyadh, considering them as a blatant interference in the internal affairs of Saudi Arabia and a violation of diplomatic norms and relations between countries.

ISESCO Director General Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri said that Canada is not entitled to interfere in the internal affairs of Saudi Arabia or any member state of ISESCO and give orders in matters concerning these countries, because such conduct is contrary to international law and could jeopardize the sovereignty and independence of these countries. He reiterated his support for the measures being taken by Saudi Arabia towards this unacceptable interference in its internal affairs.
