Islamic mercy should be applied in real life: MWL Chief to UNA

Secretary general of the Muslim World League (MWL) Dr. Muhammad Abdulkarim Al-Issa said that the Hajj Conference organized on Wednesday under the title of “The concept of mercy in Islam, with the broad participation of Islamic scholars, came to clarify the concept of mercy in our religion, and show it in the light of practical applications.

Speaking to the Union of OIC News Agencies, Al-Issa underlined that the recommendations of the conference and its decisions will be applied on Islamic communities and minorities, and that it will result in several initiatives and programs carried out by the MWL.

Al-Issa pointed out that the recommendations of the conference on the concept of mercy in Islam are of extreme importance, stressing that merciful behavior should be the norm, and not just a theory.

The conference highlighted the meanings of mercy in Islam through texts of the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah and the biography of the Prophet, urging on the need to transfer such models to current reality, highlighting that the Ummah needs to bridge the gap between theory and application.
