In Japan, at least six people were killed in a powerful Typhoon Jebi in western parts of the country today (Tuesday).

Authorities have also issued evacuation advisories for more than one million people and canceled hundreds of flights in the face of extremely strong winds and heavy rain.

Japan’s Fire and Disaster Management Agency said in Tokyo that wind gusts up to two hundred and eight kilometer per hour were recorded in Shikoku.

The Agency further said tides in some areas are the highest since a typhoon in 1961 and a large number of causalities are being feared.
