Karachi: JamaateIslami JI has filed a petition against pillion ride ban in the city at Sindh High Court SHC here on Monday.

The petition was filed by JI Naib Ameer Nasrullah Khan Shajih, former lawmakers Younus Barai and Hameedullah Khan Advocate.

In the petition, the JI adopted the viewpoint that the provincial government in the name of pillion riding ban has done injustice with people. They said ban on pillion ride was a violation of human rights.

The petition further stated that 6million Karachiites are affected every day due to the ban on pillion riding. They said there has already been acute shortage of public transport in the city.

The JI leaders were on the view that the government should take affective measures in order to tackle the menace of terrorism, instead of imposition ban on pillion riding.

In the petition, the JI leaders also appealed to lift ban on pillion riding immediately.
