LAHORE: Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s announcement for military dictator Pervez Musharraf’s trial under article was in accordance with the wishes of the people who wanted the traitor to meet his fate at the earliest.

Addressing the workshop for JI workers at Mansoora on Monday, he said that Pervez Musharraf not only abrogated the constitution but also played in the enemy hands thus bringing destruction to the country and the nation.

He said it was time the door for the military adventurers was closed for all times as it only benefited the enemy by creating a wedge between the people and the armed forces.

Liaqat Baloch said that during the last five years, the PPP led government faithfully followed Pervez Musharraf’s pro-US policies due to which terrorism and lawlessness intensified in the country.

He said, mere statements at the floor of the National Assembly won’t work and the new rulers would have to change their foreign and domestic policies.

Liaqat Bloch termed the Nanga Parbat tragedy as a deep conspiracy to bring bad name to Pakistan. He said the terrorist attack in the areas where the common man normally did not venture was the great failure of the security institutions and the agencies.

The JI Secretary General said the JI had accepted the election results only to keep the country on the path of democracy; however, the moral worth of these was n known to all. He pointed out that in the Khyber P. the JUI was in protest, in the Punjab, the PTI was complaining of rigging on as many as 31 seats. Similarly, in Balochistan, the Bugti and Mengal tribes were protesting that they had not been allowed the right to vote. No wonder then, that the new government had become unpopular within a fortnight of coming into power.
