JI presents three point agenda for country progress

KARACHI: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami JI Syed Munawar Hasan on Monday presented of 3point agenda for the progress and sovereignty the country.

He was addressing a press conference at Idara-Noor-e-Haq. Ameer JI Karachi Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Naib Ameer JI Raja Arif Sultan, Director Public Relations JI Sarfaraz Ahmed, Information Secretary Zahid Askari, Priest Emael Victor, Dr Samuel George, Bishop Nazir Alam, Bishop Khadim Bhutto, Master Riaz Boota, Priest Edgar Arif, Irfan Den, Afzal, Shamon Joseph and others were also present on the occasion.

JI Ameer said that every political and religious party of the country should unite on such 3point agenda, including eradication of terrorism, evolution in economy and resolution of Kashmir issue. He said the Kashmir issue should be resolved as per the desire of Kashmiri people.

He said: “The menace of terrorism is being increased with every passing day in the country and Federal Administered Tribal Area FATA, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa KPK, Balochistan and Karachi are in grip of terrorism.”

Munawar said the economy of the country is on the verge of collapse while former Finance Minister Dr Hafeez Shaikh was planned to release the last instalment by IMF. “JI considers evolving a loud thinking to resolve the economic crises of the country”, he added.

JI Ameer said the government should evolve independent foreign policy in which national agenda should remain on top.

Talking on prevailing situation in Bangladesh, Munawar said the conviction of JI leaders in Bangladesh was an unjustified act, so media should play its due role to highlight the atrocities being committed on JI leaders in Bangladesh.

He said the US intervention in economic, geographical and Pak armed forces grounds should be stopped immediately, as US wants to seize the resources of Pakistan. “Our present rulers are obeying the US commands, while the people can bring the change and get independence from US slavery by the power of their votes,” JI leader added.

Replying to a question, Hasan said seat adjustment with JUIF in KPK and PMLN and PTI in Punjab would be done in general elections. He regretted that the Election Commission has not yet implemented the SC verdict over voters’ verification in its true spirit.

On the occasion, Bishops Priest and fathers from Christian Community condemned the incident of Badami Bagh Lahore and said some miscreants and political parties were using Badami Bagh incident for their political motive sand were taking political benefits.

They said Christians and Muslim have no conflict with each other as they are like a brothers in Pakistan. They said the announced amount of compensation from Punjab government for victims of Badami Bagh incident is not enough, so it should be increased with immediate effect.
