Karachi: JamaateIslami JI has urged to government to focus on energy and restrain from hiking prices of gas and petroleum products.

JI Sindh chapter amir Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui said the present elected democratic government has completed preparations to drop what he called a ‘petrol bomb’ on Pakistani people. He said hike in the price of petrol and CNG is unjustified and it would exuberate hunger and poverty in this country.

He said the new government raised the general sales tax, which resulted in massive price hike and all daily use commodities have become costlier even before the holy month of Ramzan. He said today chicken, milk and tomatoes have gone beyond the reach of lowincome people.

He demanded to withdraw the decisions of hike in GST and oil prices to give some relief to Pakistani citizens.
