Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said it was the responsibility of the media to highlight the two-nation theory as the foundation of the country, and play a positive role in saving the youth from being misled.

He was talking to a high level delegation of the Tanzeem e Islami, led by Brig. (Rd) Dr Ghulam Murtaza, that called on him at Mansoora in connection with their signature campaign against obscenity and vulgarity.

Hasan said that it was imperative to promote Islamic culture and values in order to defeat the evil designs of the secular forces. The Pakistani nation, especially the youth should practically follow the golden Islamic teachings for safeguarding the country’s ideological borders.

Islam, he said, enjoined promotion of modesty and curbing nudity and obscenity. Therefore the media, both print and electronic, should discharge its responsibility to discourage the Indian culture. Allowing the Indian culture and values to flourish in this country was highly detrimental to our national interest, he added.

The JI Ameer stressed upon the institutions meant for curbing immorality to discharge their duties. He also urged the masses to foil every conspiracy to thrust the western or Indian culture on the country.

He said the religious and social circles would have to give due attention to social transformation for effectively meeting the challenges facing the country and the nation.

The JI Ameer assured the delegation of full JI cooperation in their drive and expressed the hope that the sober sections of the society would fully participate in the campaign and make it a success.
