Peshawar: Joint opposition in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Assembly on Saturday staged walk out from Assembly as protest against the speaker who they said did not relinquish the charge of PTI provincial president.

ANP parliamentary leader Sardar Hussain Babak while talking on a point of order said that speaker of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaiser who supposed to be the custodian of the house is still involved in party politics, and despite being present in the country he is not presiding over the important budget session.

” Speaker is involved in running election campaign of his brother,” he said and announced that opposition will stage walk out of the house against the political involvement of the speaker.

By announcing that the joint opposition staged walk out the house. the provincial minister for health and information Shaukat Yousafzai said that Speaker Asad Qaiser is on personal leave and his engagements are private not political.

Opposition, he said at least should have confirmed before making such statements. He said PTI yet to award the ticket for by-election therefore it is not true that speaker is running the election campaign of his brother.

” Like any other member speaker has the right to lessen the problems of his constituency and solve it,” he said while responding to the opposition stance about his political involvement.

He said that party will soon decide about the provincial chief of PTI and thus speaker will relinquish the charge of the party provincial president. He said being custodian of the house it has already been decided that speaker will leave the charge of PTI provincial chief.
