Karachi beat Islamabad in U16 hockey tourney

Karachi: Karachi U16 hockey team recovered from a goal down to beat Islamabad 21, thanks to Mohammad Waseem Aslam, who scored both the goals for Karachi in 2nd Motorway Police U16 Boy’s Hockey Championship on Wednesday at National Hockey Stadium in Lahore.

Islamabad’s skipper Ejaz Ali Haider put his side ahead after scoring in the 33rd minute. But Karachi’s Mohammad Waseem Aslam scored two back to back goals in 52nd and 53rd minutes to turn the tables in his team’s favour.

Meanwhile, the match between Peshawar and Multan ended in a 11 draw. Samiullah scored for Peshawar while M. Adnan Khalid produced equalizer for Multan.

Rawalpindi thrashed D. I. Khan recording a convincing 30 victory. Zeeshan, Adil Abbas and Waleed Zakir scored one goal each.

The last match of the day between Bahawalpur and Bannu ended in a 33 draw. Sohail Yousaf, M. Nadeem and Zohaib Khan scored one goal each for Bahawalpur while skipper Muneeb scored twice and Junaid scored once for Bannu.
