Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Tuesday ordered the provision of a $200 million grant to the Central Bank of Yemen in support of its financial position.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the donation comes in continuation of Saudi Arabia’s consistent approach to support the Yemeni government and people, based on its interest to realize stability of Yemen’s economy and enhance the value of its currency.

This grant, in addition to the previous Kingdom’s deposit of a total of $3 billion in the Central Bank of Yemen, would contribute to alleviating the economic burden on the Yemeni people, SPA said, pointing out that Saudi Arabia reaffirms its continued support for the Yemeni government to restore the security and stability in the country, and to enable it to carry out its duties for the benefit of the Yemeni citizens.
