While several cities in Punjab are struggling to fight the ever increasing smog, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has found a solution for it.

KP government’s Billion Tree Tsunami project has saved the province from worsening air pollution, which has brought Punjab to a standstill.

A forest, grown on the 16,000 canal land in the countryside of Peshawar, helps keep the environment clean. The smog eating green cover has saved the provincial capital and nearby areas from smog.

Chief Minister KP, Mahmood Khan, is confident that his government will completely eradicate air pollution from the province by replicating the experiment in other cities as well.

Smog clouds contain a considerable amount of toxic elements like Sulphur, Lead, Methane, and Carbon Dioxide, which are harmful to human health.

From the successful experiment in KP, we now know that the tree plantation is an ideal solution to Punjab’s growing pollution issues.
