Lawyers boycotted courts to protest suicide attack in judicial complex

Peshawar: Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court justice Dost Mohammad Khan on Tuesday visited the bomb blast site at Judicial complex and said that the attack was done on the judiciary therefore judiciary will not bow before any one.

Chief Justice Dost Mohammad Khan said that police and other agencies was investigating the case and he himself has been monitoring the probe. He said that the attack was against the judiciary.

Meanwhile Lawyers have boycotted the courts’ proceedings over Peshawar judicial complex.

Peshawar High Court Bar Association PHCBA holds general body meeting, which was attended by large number of lawyers. Senor lawyers while addressing the meeting strongly condemned the attack and said that those behind the attack must be brought to book.

The lawyers boycotted the court proceedings. Lawyers did not attend the courts and expressed their anger over the sad incident took place on Monday in which at least four people were killed and 47 others injured the blast had occurred inside the court of Civil Judge Kulsoom Azam. Several lawyers and policemen were wounded in the blast.

Police has received the closer circuit camera films and now getting help from the video to identify the culprits. Body parts of the suiciders have also been sent for DNA to laboratory.

According to Lady Reading Hospital 38 injured have been discharged of hospital after necessary treatment however 9 injured are still admitted in various wards of the hospital.
