KARACHI: A meeting of the Coordination Committee constituted on the directives of the Chief Minister Sindh to finalize arrangements for holding local bodies’ polls in Sindh was held here Wednesday at the office the Sindh Minister for Information. The meeting was attended among others by Provincial Ministers Dr. Sharjeel Inam Memon, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Hazar Khan Bijarani, Sikandar Mendhro, Mukesh Kumar, Advisor Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Sindh, Secretary Local Government Department and Advocate General Sindh.

The meeting reviewed arrangements that are under way for free, fair and transparent local bodies’ polls in the province.

The meeting expressed its concern that delimitation process in the province is yet to be completed and meanwhile the Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the schedule, this has made the task of Sindh Government more challengeable. The Committee, however, vowed to complete all required arrangements with a view to ensure that local bodies’ polls are held in a smooth and orderly manner and as per directives issued by the apex court.
