Peshawar: Losing candidates for NA36 constituency in Mohmand agency on Wednesday refused to accept the poll results and threatened to besiege Governor House if Election Commission of Pakistan ECP did not announce to hold re-polling in the constituency.

Addressing a news conference here at Peshawar Press Club, the candidate of PMLN Haji Zar Khan Safi, Dawood Khan of PTI , Mohammad Saeed Khan of JI and the contenders in independent capacity including Nisar Ahmad, Shahsawar, Malik Asghar Khan, Dawood Khan Safi, Abid Shah and Rahim Shah alleged that the elections in their constituency were rigged.

They claimed that the voters were forced to confine to their homes on the polling day, alleging that the Independent candidate Bilal Rehman won the elections with connivance of
polling staff.

They also said that around 3700 voters could not cast ballots as a polling station in Shaheed Banda was shifted to a school in Sher Ali area without any prior notice to the voters.

“Presiding officer and returning officer polled number of fake votes in favour of Bilal Rehman,” they alleged and urged ECP to re-hold polling in the constituency otherwise they would besiege Governor House Peshawar next week.
