Lyari Rehabilitation schoolteachers approach SHC for job regularization

Karachi: Over 70 employees of the schools, established in Taiser Town, which is a part of the Lyari Rehabilitation Project, have approached the Sindh High Court for the regularization of their service.

A division bench of SHC headed by Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai has issued notice to the chief secretary, secretary education and literacy department, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation KMC administrator and authorities of Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project, asking them to file replies.

The petitioners Atta Muhammad, Shagufta and others submitted that they were employees in the schools in Taiser Town scheme45 in 2007. They said that schools remained closed for last 19 months from 2011 due to shortage of funds. They said they were appointed at least 6 years ago and all of them were performing their duties continuously.

They said that respondents have not decided their matter about regularization of their services. They prayed to the court to direct the respondents to regularize their jobs.
