May Day observed

QUETTA: International Labour Day was observed with enthusiasm in Balochistan Wednesday. Day was marked by processions and public meetings. A public meeting was held at Irrigation workshop here today. President Balochistan Labour Federation Muhammad Ramzan Achakzai, senior vice President Abdul Ghaffar and others said that on May 1, 1886 in Chicago workers in their struggle for time period and basic facilities gave their lives. Due to their sacrifices our working class also renews pledge.

They said in 66 years history of the country dictators and civil dictators ruled the country in the name of democracy. For this reason price hike, lawlessness, corruption, loot, killings and load shedding is at its peak. These factors were

becoming basis for increase in unemployment. Workers are deprived of justice, education and health facilities and are forced to commit suicide and self immolation.

After public meeting workers took out a rally from Irrigation Workshop to Chaman Phatak. Participants carried banners and placards. It terminated at Mannan Chowk.

Public meetings and rallies were also held in Turbat, Kalat, Sibi, Nasirabad, Loralai, Killa Saifullah, Pishin, Kharan, Khuzdar, Panjgur and Pasni.
