Mehran Highway to completed in Nov

KARACHI: KMC Administrator Saqib Ahmed Soomro said Phase-II of Mehran Highway will be completed in November as all encroachments from its site had been removed and the construction work underway speedily.

He said this during a visit of Mehran Highway along with the DG Technical Services Niaz Soomro and other officers. The administrator Karachi said the second phase of this project involved the construction of a six kilometre road from Labour Chowrangi to Port Qasim Road.

“A storm water drain was also being installed alongside main highway and the bridge extension work on Sikhan Nullah is also going on.” He said the project being carried out with the cooperation of Japan International Cooperation Agency had an estimated cost of around Rs550 million.

He expressed the hope that completion of this highway would provide considerable convenience to people, especially the business community.
