Merit demanded in JSMU appointments

Karachi: The members of Sindh Medical College Alumni Association of Pakistan SMCAA on Monday congratulated the Vice Chancellor, all medical graduates of the Sindh Medical College, medical students, staff, and faculty members on the occasion of the first anniversary of Jinnah Sindh Medical University JSMU.

A meeting of office-bearers of SMCAA which was presided over by its Chairman Dr Altaf Hashmi, President Dr Shahid Sami, General Secretary Dr S M Qaisar Sajjad, Vice President Dr Azam Khan, Dr Shahab Ullah, Dr Abdullah Muttaqi and Dr Aman Qasim.

The members also congratulates the newly elected office-bearers of the JPMC Doctors Association and said time has come that the doctors of JPMC & SMC Alumni will work together for the betterment of the Jinnah Sindh Medical University & improve the quality of teaching & training. At the end of the day it will be beneficial for the poor patient.

The Alumni members also showed concern about the appointments of all the posts at the university and requested to the Vice Chancellor & the concerned authorities to make a transparent merit based policy. The transparency and the merit should not be violated in any circumstances, they added.
