Minister announces Rs. 650 m for construction of schools, flood relief activities in Charsadda

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Irrigation and Energy and Power Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Thursday announced Rs. 150 million for construction of schools and Rs. 500 million for flood relief activities.

Addressing public meeting at district council Hall, Charsadda the minister listened the problems of masses of PK1718 and assured them immediate remedies of their issues.

Members of Provincial Assembly Khalid Khan, Sultan Muhammad, Arshad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Tahir Zafar Abbasi, DPO Charsadda Shafiullah Khan and the officials of the Irrigation, Health and WAPDA were also present on this occasion.

The problems presented by the people concerned insufficient schools, shortage of doctors in the area, inappropriate behaviour of police and district administration, power load shedding, overbilling by PESCO and other issues.

Taking note of the masses’ grievances, the minister urged the government servants to make public service as their duty and resolve their issues on priority basis.

He said the time had gone when decisions would be taken on corruption and nepotism basis, adding that the government would not let anyone to mint money from the people in the name of their issues.

The senior minister assured that gas supply to Nastha, Dosehra and adjacent areas would soon start and Qaumi Watan Party Chairman Aftab Sherpao would soon inaugurate the project.

Meanwhile, the minister asked PESCO authorities to resolve low voltage issue along with unscheduled load shedding and ensure installation of power transformers and panel room within 30 days. He also warned that no lethargy to this effect would be tolerated.
