Moin Khan wins Seniors Cricket Southern Region final

Karachi: Moin Khan Seniors won Southern Regional Final match of 15th National Seniors Cup against Karachi Omar by eight wickets here on Sunday at National Stadium.

The tournament is organized by Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association PVCA.

Karachi Omar Associates batted first and put on board 15510 in 30 overs. Former hockey Olympian Qamar Ibrahim scored 32 runs off 25 balls and remained top scorer for the side. Umar Rasheed took four wickets while Test cricketer Nadeem Khan and Tanvir Ali took three wickets each for Moin Khan Seniors.

In response, Moin Khan Seniors reached the winning target of 156 runs losing only two of their wickets in 19.1 overs. Allrounder Omer Masood scored a brilliant 89 runs off only 55 balls with the help of four sixes and 11 boundaries. Azizur Rehman scored 36 runs off 19 balls.

The national final of the tournament will be played between Moin Khan Seniors and the winner of Northern Zone Final in Karachi under Floodlights at DHA Sports Club on May 25.
