Motorway Police observes Independence Day

Peshawar: The National Highways and Motorways Police Sector M1 celebrated the 66th Independence Day of Pakistan here at the main motorway toll plaza Peshawar KP under the supervision of sector commander M1 SSP Muhammad Tahir Khan. At the Toll Plaza the officers of Motorway M1 welcomed commuters and distributed road safety pamphlets and booklets.

Talking to the media persons the SSP said the Independence Day of Pakistan Youm-e-Azadi was the day on which Pakistan appeared on the map of the world as an independent and sovereign state. It was only because of this glorious country of ours which affords us the enjoyment of all of our freedoms and liberties.

The SSP said that the IG NH&MP Mr. Zulfiqar Cheema and DIG Motorways Mr. Wisal Fakhar Sultan had a staunch determination to ensure immaculate adherence of traffic laws on the motorways.

The motorway police was committed to serve the travellers that the success of all public services lied in joint efforts, mutual understanding and respect.

Later on, SSP Tahir led a rally of motorway Police patrolling mobiles which started from Main Toll Plaza, Peshawar, and passing through Charsadda Interchange it culminated at Rashakai Service area. Every motorway police mobile had a Pakistani flag.

The celebration was followed by a special patrolling session which also spread traffic slogans emphasizing lane discipline, use of seat belts, avoidance of over speeding, and courtesy to other road users.

Thousands of travellers enjoyed the celebration and appreciated the friendly approach of motorway Police.

Many travellers praised the role of NH&MP in making the Independence Day special for them and hoped to see such initiatives in the future as well.
