MQM condemn torture on NATO container drivers

KARACHI: MQM’s elected representatives Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Asif Hasnain and Sajid Ahmed have expressed condemnation of torture on NATO container drivers by the workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the strongest possible terms. They have termed their act outrageous and undemocratic.

In a joint statement, they said Pakistan is a democratic country and parties are allowed to stage peaceful demonstrations. They said that PTI should have staged a peaceful protest and should not have resorted to violence and torture. They deplored that PTI’s workers brutal act was highly condemnable because it had given a bad name to Pakistan. They lamented that they have misused their democratic right for peaceful demonstrations.

MQM’s elected representatives demanded an action against the workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf who had tortured drivers from the prime minister and federal interior minister. They demanded their arrest and prosecution in accordance with the laws of Pakistan.
