MQM worker killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI: A Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist was killed, while other persons were injured in firing in the city on Thursday. Muhammad Qazafi alias Patni, 30, son of Muhammad Yousuf was gunned down and two other men Abdul Qadir son of Zahid and Waqar son of Abdul Ghaffar were injured in firing by unidentified armed men near Masalah Street in Jodia Bazaar in the remit of Kharadar police station.

The body and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK). Police said the victim Qazafi and the injured Waqar were activists of MQM, adding the victim was resident of North Karachi. Police said the other injured man Abdul Qadir was a shopkeeper in Masalah Street. They suspected Lyari gang war might be behind the incident.
