Nation requested to offer ‘prayer day’

KARACHI: Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hasan has appealed the nation to observe a ‘Youm-e-Dua’ (prayer day) on Friday, March 22. In this regard, letters have already been written to prayer leaders, clerics and religious scholars to offer special prayers to seek God’s mercy. JI Karachi chapter amir Muhammad Hussain Mehanti says the entire country is in the grip of terrorism. He said killing of innocent people in rampant from Karachi to Peshawar. The life and property of citizens are not safe. “We as a nation have forgotten our God and as a result we are facing these problems. Now begging from pardon from God is an only way to save the nation and country from more tragedies”, he added.

He said that the prevailing law and order situation is the worst in the history of Pakistan. Deep conspiracies are being hatched by external powers to destabilize this country. The JI appealed the people, clerics and Imam of mosques to offer special prayers on Friday on the occasion of ‘Youm-e-Dua’.
