Nation should unite for weeding out terrorism: Rehman MalikMarch 9, 2013
SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik has urged the nation to be united for uprooting the terrorism and militancy from the country, claiming that the governments’ antiterrorism effective measures including the 3D policy were helping to control the terrorism in the country. PPP government was committed to weed out terrorism from the country.
He stated this while addressing the participants of an important meeting held at the auditorium of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry SCCI after inaugurating the newly established passport office at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry SCCI along with the Federal Minister for National Regulation and Services Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan here Saturday.
MPA Tahir Mehmood Hundali, senior officials of FIA, NADRA and Immigration departments were also present on this occasion.
Rehman Malik added that the PPP government has broken the backbone of the TTP through the effective antiterrorism strategy and now the country was moving towards the goal of durable peace and political and economical stability here.
He claimed that the government has controlled the terrorism to great extant in Quetta and now everything was cool and calm everywhere in Pakistan except Karachi. He said that situation would soon become normal in Karachi as the government had adopted all the effective and rapid response option to eliminate terrorism in Karachi with a sole to make Karachi against a peaceful city and economical hub of Pakistan.
Later, talking to the newsmen at SCCI, Rehman Malik, the son of soil of Sialkot , revealed that there was no doubt that the PPP government was making all the effective measures to secure the lives and properties of the people across the country and it was also the national obligation of all the powers in the state to come forward and play their pivotal role and be united to quell terrorism and militancy from the country. He pledged to bring peace everywhere in Pakistan at every cost, urging the political opponents to do politics on terrorism for political point scoring.
He claimed to be the longest ever serving interior minister of the country.
He said that the PPP was doing everything best in the larger national interest and it would never compromise on the national interest, in this regard. He said that the energy crisis will soon be over as become would become self sufficient in energy and it would also be able to export energy to the other countries, as the PPP government had been implementing on several mega energy producing projects in the country under the supervision of China.
Earlier, Rehman Malik and Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan today inaugurated the two more regional passport offices at Sialkot district. One passport office has been established at village Jajjey Sahiyaan the native village of interior minister Rehman Malik in out skirts of Sialkot to entertain the local people. While, a regional passport office has also been established at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry SCCI to entertain the Sialkot business community there, as the NADRA office has also been established at SCCI for Sialkot business community.
Rehman Malik also announced immediate establishment of the special desks for females at Sialkot Regional Passport Office and at NADRA office Sialkot with immediate effect, besides, ordering to convert the Sialkot regional passport office into a model passport office within three days.
Rehman Malik also announced to establish separate passport offices at Daska and Pasrur to serve the local people there at local level.
Now, the Sialkot district has four regional passport offices. One passport office at Sialkot city, one at Koobay ChakBajwat the native village of Dr. Firdous Ashiq federal minister to entertain the local people of her constituency NA 111, Bajwat, SialkotI there. Now, a passport office has been established at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry SCCI and at village Jajjey Sahiyaan the native village of Rehman Malik interior minister to entertain the local people there.
On this occasion, Rehman Malik announced Rs. 3 million special grant for the early repairing and renovation of 148 years old Iqbal Manzil the birthplace of Allama Iqbal at Sialkot.
Taking serious notice of the mounted complaints about the corruption of the officials at Sialkot regional passport office and highhandedness of the agents there, Rehman Malik ordered immediate reshuffling of all the officials and staff of Sialkot regional passport office. Rehman Malik ordered the Director General Passports and Immigration of Pakistan Wajid Bukhari to purge all the passport office from corruption and agents within three days. He warned to arrest the DG if he did not meet with this task.
Rehman Malik also transferred Assistant Director FIA Gujranwala Munawar Ranjha due to his alleged poor performance in his duties.
Replying to another question, Interior Minister announced that all the foreign customers would be granted Pakistan visas upon their landing at Sialkot International Airport., saying that now the Sialkot businessmen would be able to get indulged their foreign directors in their business in Pakistan.
He also directed the DG Passports and Immigration to clear all the pending passports of the Sialkot people within a stipulated period of next three days.
Interior Minister announced to appoint an FIA Assistant Director, two inspectors besides doubling the FIA staff from 10 to 20b besides, ensuring the immediate installation of latest equipments at Sialkot International Airport within next three days.
